Key Outputs

Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission - specifically better management reporting, information flow and management of business process and organizational planning.
Manage and increase efficiency of support services (HR, IT, Finance and Marketing), through improved coordination and communication between support and business functions.
Drafting and implement long-term operational strategy.
Compliance to policies regarding financial management, planning, systems and controls in hospitals.
Draft and manage operational budget in coordination with the Managing Director and Group Financial Manager.
Implement and develop operational strategies, policies and practices with other departments
Attend regular meetings with Executive Members.
Supervise and coach hospital managers on an ongoing basis.
Managing quality assurance programs.
Monitoring existing processes and analyzing their effectiveness; and creating strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
Risk Management - serve as primary liaison to legal counsel in addressing legislative issues, while ensuring uncompromising quality nursing care, adherence to ethical and clinical standards
Develop & implement the business operational strategy aligned to the Group’s business strategy
Build & manage relationships with medical professionals & other key stakeholders to ensure loyalty to the brand
Ensure quality customer service aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Group
Ensure sound operational practices aligned with the operating model of the organisation
Ensure adherence to ethical & clinical standards
Ensure uncompromising quality nursing care

People Management

Inspirational leadership and people management
Motivation through practical supervision, including managing, appraising, mentoring, coaching, and training
Develop objectives and monitor individual performance and conduct performance evaluations
Measure performance against quantitative targets and qualitative objectives and implement corrective actions as required
Conduct one-on-one reviews with subordinates to build more effective communication, to understand training and developmental needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of activity and performance.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Previous knowledge of the health care industry
Good analytical skills for developing procedures and improving systems
Ability to analyze situations and take appropriate action consistent with company policies and regulatory laws.
The incumbent must be able to demonstrate strong capability to work with various Hospital managers and stakeholders across different regions.
Work effectively with the ability to work independently, pay careful attention to detail and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to successfully manage numerous workstreams and deliverables simultaneously.
Enjoys problem solving and adopts a pragmatic mindset of “getting the job done”
A good administrator and logistician with a strong management sense
A proven track record of working in a cross-cultural environment
Professional, fluent written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications).
Must be a team player and an inspirational leader

Required Work Experience

A Minimum of 5 years management experience in a senior management role, which includes managing a theater Unit
Financial management / planning in a clinical environment would be beneficial
Must have experience in management within a Hospital setting /environment
Ability to work under pressure
Must be able to function as a team member
Strong business operations knowledge is essential
Computer literacy and Fluency in English essential
A driven person with good people and communication skills

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus 5 years of healthcare management experience. A post Graduate qualification in Business Management will be an advantage management experience.
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse coupled with experience in working in a theatre.
